Mother, Martyr

This piece is from my solo show, Elemental Alchemy. It is layer upon layer of encaustic wax with oil paint for added depth and detail. This painting is on 29x14.5in solid wood board and ready to be hung. The subjects are hand carved and sculpted into the painting giving it more of a 3D feel. I can truthfully say that I have spent more time on this particular painting than I have on any other piece.
