Boudoir
/ˈbo͞oˌdwär/
French for a woman's dressing room, bedroom, or private sitting room
Why boudoir photography? Firstly, why not?!! Secondly, you're hot stuff!
Here at April Love Photography you will find nothing but encouragement to do a boudoir session. Not only is it incredibly empowering to be free and comfortable in your own skin but it is downright sexy! Even if you're self-conscious (because let's face it - we all have our insecurities) I will show you how beautiful you are. It's not unusual for my boudoir clients to shed a happy tear or two when I show them the back of the camera. They always say " Is that really me?!". Even if you're doing thinking about doing a session as a gift for a lover I always say to first and foremost do this for yourself. It's a huge confidence boost!
This is what you can expect:
Each boudoir collection includes a pre-session consultation and a questionnaire so I can better get to know you. Together we will decide on a
location and products based on your needs. I won't leave you hanging! I will help you decide on outfits as well as make hair and make-up recommendations. During your session I will help you relax, pose you in flattering ways, and we will have fun! I would be happy to recommend a hair stylist and make-up artist if this is something you're interested in. Just ask!

F. A. Q. 's
1. Where are you located?
I am currently living in Northwest Indiana. Lowell Indiana to be exact. I don't currently have a studio of my own but have a few that I frequently rent out for sessions that are scattered throughout Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
2. What is your editing style like?
I prefer dark and moody. You'll find that when you look at my portfolio. When it comes to boudoir I do not go overboard with Photoshop. I want you to look like YOU. I have no issues touching up blemishes or bruises but it is not my style to overly smooth skin or alter your body in Photoshop.
3. Do you help with posing?
Absolutely! I won't leave you hanging. I help my clients get into flattering poses usually by example or giving prompts.
4. Would you share my images online?
Never. With every ounce of my being I respect your privacy. I might ask to use them in my private Facebook group or on social media but would never do so without your consent.
5. I'm not sure if I want prints or an album. What should I do?
I recommend an album. It's a little black book you can discreetly have sitting on your bookshelf or in a nightstand and it's the perfect way to compile all of your favorite images. Another option is a keepsake box with all of your favorite prints.
6. I'm ready to book a shoot! What is the next step?
I would be both thrilled and honored to work with you! Simply fill out the Contact form and I will get back to you shortly to chat about all of the details involved in booking. Nothing over the top, I like to keep things simple.

Testimonials
“I've been a "mom" stuck in a mom mode for nearly 3 years. Including nursing this whole time, 2 babies at once for the last 14 months. (My boobs have been milk makers and nothing else). My marriage / love life / sex life has suffered. I never in a million years would have guessed that doing this photo shoot would help me so much! To feel sexy again. Like me. Like the old me. Like a woman. I seriously got my old self, my own self, back again. And I had SO much fun that I say this gift was just as much for me as it was for him! I just want you to know how much you have helped me as a woman to get back to being a sexy thang not "just a mom" in a mom body. For that, Thank You!!!” ~Anonymous Client
"Let me start out by saying how genuine, easy, and calming April is. Getting all dolled up, and down to your intimate self might be a scary situation to begin with. April makes the whole process a dream, and so comfortable. We had two girls before we got married, that I had nursed, and taken care of as a stay at home mother (and still am). I wanted to do something my husband could keep and cherish for a lifetime, so April and so had chosen a boudoir photo shoot. It was a game changer for him, he was shocked and as you can imagine extremely pleased when he received the gift on our wedding day. It turned out tasteful and very well done. I am in love with the way I felt for myself doing this, it was freeing and fun! I highly recommend it to any woman just to connect with yourself again, or for someone else." ~Anonymous Client
“I'm done defining myself through sexual victimization, through my value as defined by a man, I want to own my body again in a way I never have...” Anonymous Client
"Doing a boudoir shoot was the best decision I've made in a long time. Being someone that was in a bad place and hated myself, this shoot breathed life back into me. I forgot how beautiful I am and this reminded me. The confidence I gained after seeing how wonderfully April was able to pull the true me out in these pictures is nothing short of amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful which helped make this shoot possible. I was so nervous and she helped me realize I have something beautiful to show. Thank you April, my long time friend, for helping me find and see the real me." Anonymous Client
